The semester is quickly winding down...

Wow!  A lot has happened since I updated last.

On October 24th, my friends and I made our way to Berlin, Germany.  We went on an all day walking tour (which was AWESOME), went to a museum exhibiting Egyptian artifacts, and then ended with a city wide pub crawl.  It was a great weekend!  I loved Berlin, and would definitely go back another time if I got the chance.

On Tuesday, October 28th my older sister Meganne came into town.  She stayed until Friday the 31st, and during her stay here in Luxembourg we hung out at the chateau, went out in the city, went to Vianden (a city in the north of Luxembourg), and cooked dinner for my host family.  It was great to see her!

The Friday that she left, I also left Luxembourg for a 9 day trip to Ireland and the UK.  I started off in Dublin on Halloween and stayed until Sunday, November 2nd.  While in Dublin, we explored Trinity College, did a ‘hop-on / hop-off’ bus tour of the city, and the best part of all was the tour of the Guiness Brewery.  It was a 7 floor building with the seventh floor being a bar with a 360 degree view of Dublin.  You started on the ground floor and worked your way up learning everything from the ingredients used in brewing, the brewers, the building, the history of the company, the advertising, etc.  It was by far my favorite thing in Dublin.

We left Dublin via plane Sunday afternoon and headed to Edinburgh, Scotland.  We went out with some locals that we met that night, and then on Monday did a walking tour, saw the Edinburgh castle, walked down the Royal Mile, and saw the Queen’s ‘vacation’ house.  I also met up with some other Miami friends who happened to be there at the same time and we went to an open mic night, which was a great time!

Tuesday morning we left for York.  In York, we saw the minster (a GORGEOUS) church, walked around the town, and then that night went on a haunted ghost tour…(York is supposedly the most haunted place in the world, with over 500 ‘registered’ ghosts within the city limits)  The tour wasn’t all that scary, more theatrical than anything, but none-the-less it was a cool experience.  The next morning we went to a museum on the other side of the town, and then after that we got on a train and headed for London.  We stayed in London until Sunday November 9th, when we flew back to Luxembourg and got some much needed rest.  While in London, we did two walking tours that hit all of the main spots (Big Ben, Westminster, Tower Bridge, Tower of London, London Eye, etc).  We also further explored the Tower of London, went to the British Museum, and I even went to the Bank of London.  One night we decided to go see Wicked, which was a great Broadway production about the witches side of the story from Wizard of Oz.

It feels great to be back in Luxembourg, even if for such a short time.  This Friday (tomorrow), we embark on a 5 day tour with my business class in which we will be going to Brussels, Bruges, Antwerp, Cologne, and Mainz.  We are going to be taking tours, going to museums, meeting with companies and getting presentations, and even meeting with the US Embassy in Brussels.  It sounds like a great experience, and I can’t wait to take part!

After the Business class trip, I have the rest of my time in Europe pretty much planned out…if all goes as planned I’ll be visiting Zermatt, Paris, Barcelona, Florence, Venice, Rome, and Torino!

I hope that all is well at home…and please, please, please email me and let me know what is new with you!  It is always great to hear from people, so hopefully I’ll hear from some of you!  Have a great rest of your week!

Check out pictures, too!
